Managing patients with critical heart conditions requires constant vigilance, yet traditional monitoring methods often delay detection of life-threatening events. The client struggled to achieve real-time, remote monitoring for patients using implanted or wearable cardiac devices, leading to delayed interventions and increased hospital visits.
To address this, patients were equipped with advanced IoT devices such as Watchman, Amplatzer, and iRhythm, which continuously transmit vital heart data to the Oracle IoT Cloud platform. The system leverages real-time event recognition and analytics to detect irregular heart rhythms like Atrial Fibrillation (AFib). When anomalies are identified, alerts are automatically dispatched via Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) services to patients’ families, doctors, and hospitals. Additionally, the project utilized Oracle’s digital twin simulator within the IoT Cloud Module to model patient conditions, enabling predictive insights. The IoT devices were seamlessly integrated with custom dashboards built on Oracle BI and Visual Builder Cloud Service (VBCS), providing healthcare professionals with intuitive, actionable visualizations.
This real-time monitoring solution reduced critical response times by up to 70%, allowing healthcare providers to make faster, more informed decisions without relying solely on costly and time-consuming in-hospital diagnostics. Patients at risk were admitted promptly when necessary, significantly improving outcomes and reducing emergency visits by 30%. Ultimately, the system empowered clinicians to personalize treatment pathways, enhance patient safety, and save lives through timely intervention.
